During these difficult times there are so many worthy charities in need of your support, we realize that ours is only one. BUT, in these most difficult times, more than a few families are having to make difficult choices about their pets. Rescues across the country tell stories of pets left behind in the foreclosure process and families having to make the difficult decisions to give up their pets.

Large breeds are affected significantly because of the costs associated with feeding them and addressing the 'issues' associated with size. Add on big, floppy ears that love to grow bugs and an insatiable desire to get into EVERYTHING and then you begin to understand what it is to love a Bloodhound! We feel grateful everyday for our dogs and are doing our best to help care and find homes for many others.

In addition to cash donations, we are always in need of Purina One Adult Formula (Dog Food), Nylon or Hard Rubber (like "Kong") Toys and Large or Extra Large Crates in good condition.

Our Fund Raising Goal for 2009-2010 is $75,000

Your donations will be put to use on the following projects:

Construction of Kennel Facilities for Foster Hounds

Will include complete washing/grooming facility

Providing High Quality Veterinary Care for our Fosters

Dental Cleaning, Shots, Ear Management, Gastroplexi when indicated and all preventative care, including Lyme Vaccinations.

All of our adoptees are spayed or neutered

Providing quality nutrition and routine exercise

Purchase and Maintenance of Pet Trailer

To be used for Hound Transport and Foster shuttles

Fencing of an Additional Half Acre

Directly adjacent to current fenced yard could be used as a common area or separate enclosure

Video Monitoring System

Providing complete surveillance of all outdoor areas and kennel facilities

SAR Training and Supplies

By using their sniffers to find lost folks, we hope to use our pack to give back to our local Emergency Responders by Summer 2010!

Haul the Hounds Trailer Fund

If you'd like a way to get specifically involved and commemorate the memory of a lost pet at the same time, we are offering this unique opportunity. We are in need of a trailer to help shuttle hounds to and fro' between homes and the field. Such trailers are not cheap! SO, we are asking for donations to help and giving donors something in return.

For a minimum donation of $250 to the trailer fund (we estimate final cost to be about $7,000) we will provide you 2 lines of text to memorialize a pet on the trailer. That way, you help us to help the hounds and a favorite friend is always along for the ride with us!
